Some intriguing insights into the Super 500 PERODUA Malaysia Masters 2025, a mainstay on the badminton circuit since 2009.

              • Korea and Japan have produced winners at four of the five most recent editions.
              • China have 14 titles but are yet to conquer men’s singles and doubles.
              • Li Shi Feng and Liang Wei Keng/Wang Chang are strong candidates to fill that gap this time.
              • China, however, boast the highest number of women’s singles titles (5), at least two more than any nation.
              • If sixth seed Ratchanok Intanon clinches her third title, she will become the second most successful singles player behind local icon Lee Chong Wei, who holds five.
              • It will also leave her as the record winner in her discipline. She is currently tied on two titles with Pusarla V. Sindhu.
              • Intanon remains the last player to win in back-to-back years (2019) across the five categories.
              • Three defending champions can replicate that – Wang Zhi Yi, Kim Astrup/Anders Skaarup Rasmussen and Goh Soon Huat/Shevon Jemie Lai.
              • Wang and Astrup/Rasmussen are the only top seeds with previous triumphs.
              • Hosts Malaysia last took men’s doubles in 2013 through Goh V Shem/Lim Khim Wah and women’s doubles a year earlier via Chin Eei Hui/Wong Pei Tty.
              • Expectation of ending that wait will fall on Aaron Chia/Soh Wooi Yik and Pearly Tan/Thinaah Muralitharan, both pairs fresh off their Thailand Open success.
              • The Malaysians are also able to count on two more seeded men’s pairs – Goh Sze Fei/Nur Izzuddin (2) and Man Wei Chong/Tee Kai Wun (5).
              • Glory will bring them within one title of Indonesia, the all-time leaders in the department. The Indonesians are not represented this year by any men’s pair.
              • Jia Yi Fan and Dechapol Puavaranukroh have the chance of emulating Zheng Si Wei – the final player to win the same category with a second partner. Zheng repeated his 2016 success with Li Yin Hui four years later with Huang Ya Qiong.

Standout Stat: The last five men’s singles titles have been won by players from five countries.
